Fished Jalama for the perch this week. Weather was stellar and the fishing was good although mostly small fish. Toe thermometer said the water was in the mid 50's. Surf was around 4-5 ft and the water was clean. Lots of rock on the beach from the heavy swells this winter but there are still plenty of spots with some sand to fish. Fished the c rig with cammo sand worms (aka perch crack) for many dinks and a few better fish although nothing worth a pic. Biggest fish were in the 8-9 in. range. Only two keepers I got were from Don at the store.:)

Ok I know. Didn't have a burger on this trip as I was going home for lunch with the wife. Excuses, excuses. They also have a great patty melt and clam chowder in a bread bowl. Oh and the breakfast burritos are awesome too. Every thing I eat at Jalama seems better than at home!

a day of fishing is better than a day of work anytime!!! That's crazy there are stripers down that way! In all the years I beat the sand in the VTA, LA and SB shores I never once caught a striper. Now.... up here in the delta they are a nuisance when bass fishing!
