My first report and also first time fishing from my new kayak. Recently got a used Necky Dolphin loaded with, well the picture will do the explaining.

Took it out already once paddling but last Sunday was my first time to go fishing with it. Went to the local Lake Piru, hit the water around 7:30 (took longer than I thought to get out) and headed north along the west side of the lake where kayaks are allowed.

Water was fairly shallow the further north I went and everntually everything was just entirely grassy. This told me bass fishing. Found some struture in about 13' of water with the fishfinder and worked a chartruese jig to no avail and switched to the white spinnerbait. That got em. 2 small ones and then this nice one.

Only fished an hour since i was keeping my bearings being my first time out. Paddled around for another 2 and called it good as the heat of the day was coming on.

    Tight Lines Everyone!

Was thinking the same thing. Just have the coals hot as you go out and cook your catch.:D
